Tommy Chong, part of the original stoner duo of Cheech and Chong, has the answer for his newly revealed prostate cancer.
Chong’s cancer was diagnosed about a month ago, he told CNN, and is in a “slow stage one.” He said he first noticed symptoms nearly eight years ago during his nine-month sentence at Taft Correctional Institution in California, saying that he’s convinced the prison caused the disease.

Tommy was sentenced to prison and ordered to pay a $20,000 fine and turn over $120,000 in assets for selling mail-order bongs.
“The prison is built on toxic waste. I also got gout from the food there,” he told CNN’s Don Lemon.

“I’ve got prostate cancer, and I’m treating it with hemp oil, with cannabis,” Chong said.
The actor and comedian, 74, is a proponent of legalizing marijuana on the national level.

Chong explained he quit smoking marijuana about a year ago, so to treat his cancer he ingests hemp oil, but only “at night, so I won’t be woozy all day.”
Cannabis didn’t cause his cancer, Chong said, “Cannabis is a cure.”
